HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
MALAYSIA HALL LONDON
It was established in 1954 and was known as Malayan Student Unit of the Colonial Office (Malaya House) at Trafalgar Square. The objective was to manage the arrival of students from colonial countries. Later, it was relocated at the Grand Building at Trafalgar Square, also in 1954. On 16th October 1959, it was relocated again to 288, Walmar House , Regent Street and later to 44 & 45 Bryanston Square, London in 19620 and 2004 relocated to a period building acquired in 2001 on a long lease basis; with an address of 30-34 Queensborough Terrace, Bayswater London W2 3ST.
Malaysia Hall London plays a main role as centre of activities for Malaysian students and community. Malaysia Hall in Bayswater is a home for 3 education agencies under the High Commission of Malaysia in London; Education Malaysia London in the 1st floor while 2nd floor is currently occupied by JPA and MARA. The building equipped with 2 main halls on the ground and lower ground floor of the building. Each floor from the ground to the 2nd floor has a meeting and activity room that can accommodate up to 20 persons per session. For student accommodations, Malaysia Hall London had lodge up to 56 beds located in the 3rd and the 4th floor of the building.
MALAYSIA HALL DUBLIN
Malaysia Hall Dublin is located at No. 31 Leeson Park, Dublin 6, Ireland. It is a 3-storey semi-detached property owned by the Government of Malaysia since 1958. The mews is located at the back of Malaysia Hall Dublin and it has 6 bedrooms. Among the facilities available at Malaysia Hall Dublin are 2 main halls, a kitchen, dining hall, prayer room and office of the Education Attache’ and the Assistant Warden.
MALAYSIAN STUDENT CENTRE (MSC) BELFAST
A government owned building located at 22, Adelaide Park, BT9 6FX Belfast. It is a 3 storey semi-detached property and functioning as a student activity centre since 1963. It was renovated within the year 2009-2011 and officially open for reservation since June 1, 2013. The premise has one office, 12 rooms available with 16 beds, 2 main halls, kitchen, prayer room/surau, spacious backyard lawn, spacious parking space and a store.
